Three very special soles

Three trainers, three different sole concepts and one shared aim: movement should feel light and comfortable.

With a trainer, it isn’t just the upper that determines how the shoe feels when you walk. The sole makes at least as much of a difference. It connects your foot to the ground, accompanies every step and can significantly shape the walking experience. That’s why it’s worth taking a closer look at the soles of the three trainers Wooltastic, Wool Dream and Merino Jump. All three models combine fine Merino wool with modern sole concepts – but each relies on its very own technology. From a dynamic air-chamber principle and springy ETPU foam to a multi-layer cushioning concept: discover three special soles and learn what sets them apart.

Wooltastic: The sole with a waterbed feel

With Wooltastic, an especially soft and dynamic walking sensation takes centre stage. This is ensured by an innovative sandwich sole with an air chamber and integrated cushioning beads. What’s special: EVA beads sit inside the visible TPU bubble, which, together with the air chamber, create a springy and light feeling when you step down. The construction responds to the respective pressure of the foot and combines cushioning with pleasantly low weight. The outsole also plays an important role. The non-slip rubber outsole supports a secure footing on different surfaces.

Then there’s the typical Merino comfort: the elastic shaft made from fine Merino wool hugs the foot and makes the Wooltastic easy to slip on and off. A striking sole construction meets a sock-like fit.

Wool Dream: When the sole becomes a trampoline

The name Wool Dream suits this model well – because the sole relies on a real spring effect.

At the core is a high-quality ETPU foam, distinguished by its high rebound. The construction is designed to return absorbed energy and create a dynamic feel when walking.

Another special feature is the oval air channels in the sole. They act like small shock absorbers and help to cushion impact forces on hard surfaces. At the same time, the cut-outs reduce the weight of the sole.

The slim air channels also help to channel energy forwards, creating a light, springy roll-through. The rest of the shoe also prioritises lightness. Temperature-regulating Merino jersey, the soft removable Merino insole and the heel padding complement the sole concept. Wool Dream is particularly suitable for everyday wear, leisure, the city and light outdoor activities – anywhere you want a light trainer with a dynamic ride.

Merino Jump: Multi-layer cushioning with a pump effect

Merino Jump takes a different approach with its sole. It uses the Alpha Anti-Shock Concept. Multiple cushioning units work together to create a so-called pump effect.

The construction is engineered for high rebound and aims to reduce impact on landing. At the same time, the sole supports a smooth sense of movement. Another component is the midsole made of Super Critical Foam. This special foam allows for an especially lightweight construction. It is complemented by a non-slip rubber outsole that provides grip on the ground. This makes Merino Jump particularly interesting if you’re looking for a trainer for walks, workouts and your free time, and value a light, comfortable construction.

Three special soles, three different walking experiences

Sometimes the most exciting part of a trainer sits under your foot. Wooltastic, Wool Dream and Merino Jump show how varied a modern trainer sole can be.

Wooltastic relies on an air chamber and cushioning beads, Wool Dream combines ETPU foam with air channels and Merino Jump uses the Alpha Anti-Shock Concept with multiple cushioning units.

What unites all three models: fine Merino wool, lightweight materials and different ideas for a comfortable wearing and walking experience.

So the next time you choose a trainer, it’s worth taking a look at the sole. That’s often where there’s more technology than you might expect at first glance.
